Singapore-based, Chaitrali is a contemporary artist who creates abstract and semi-abstract works inspired by nature-led mindfulness, lived experience and constantly shifting landscapes of memory, place and self.

Her practice is rooted in an exploration of the nature of being amid constant change. Through shifting geological forms, remembered landscapes and layers of lived experience, she reflects on how places, memories and perceptions are continually altered, internalized and re-formed over time. Her works inhabit terrains where forms dissolve and reform evoking both the impermanence of experience and the possibility of renewal.

Layered and textural, her compositions move between abstraction and recoginsable traces of landscape. They are intended to create spaces of meditative calm and quiet contemplation, inviting viewers to bring their own memories, emotions and interpretations to the work.

A sensitivity to nature and the environment runs through her practice. By drawing upon the textures, rhythms and elemental qualities of the natural world, Chaitrali reflects on our relationship with the planet and, at times, the environmental risks created by the human intervention. 

The balance between intuitive play and intellect is central to her creative process. Working primarily on canvas and wood, she builds surfaces through mixed-media techniques using acrylics, charcoal, acrylic inks, coffee, pastels and other materials, often applying them with everyday objects and tools. The resulting layers, marks and eroded surfaces have become a characteristic element of her visual language.

Her practice continues to evolve through experimentation, study and an openness to learning across disciplines. She has studied Fine Arts with established artist Shyama Nadimpalli and completed the Creative Visionary Program, with Nicholas Wilton through Art2life.

Since her first solo exhibition at Global Art Fair at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, Chaitrali has exhibited and sold her work in Singapore, India, Dubai and Hong Kong. Her work has been shown at World Art Dubai and Affordable Art Fair, Hong Kong and more recently is being shown at the American Club, Singapore, among other exhibitions. Her characteristically calming signature artworks continue to deeply resonate with art collectors and patrons across all walks of life and are held in private collections in Singapore and internationally.
